The Kop

Anfield sejatinya adalah markas Liverpool FC sejak didirikannya klub ini tahun 1892,  Anfield sendiri dibangun tahun 1884 dan berada berseberangan dengan Stanley Park. Tribun yang paling terkenal di Anfield tentunya adalah The Kop. Nama ini diberikan berdasarkan sebuah bukit di propinsi Kwazulu-Natal, Afrika Selatan bernama Spion Kop. Bukit ini menjadi terkenal karena menjadi ajang pertempuran antara Lancashire Regimen (kebanyakan dari mereka berasal dari Liverpool) dengan kaum Boer di perang Boer Kedua. Nama The Kop itu diberikan oleh editor olahraga Liverpool Echo Ernest Edwards. Sekarang selain Liverpool, banyak tim yang menamakan tribun mereka The Kop juga antara lain Shieffield United, Leicester City, Conventry City, dan Sheffield.

The Kop yang sangat terkenal di Inggris maupun di seluruh dunia. Tribun ini mampu menampung 28.000 penonton dan sekaligus menjadi salah satu deretan tribun bertingkat terbesar di dunia. Namun karena alasan keamanan, terkait dengan Tragedi Hillsbourough, kapasitas the Kop dipangkas menjadi hanya 12.390 tempat duduk.
